Learn to form logical, coherent opinions then present, support, and defend these opinions in debates. Debates must be able to read and synthesize information, and then summarize and support their ideas. Students will develop their speaking, listening, note-taking, and writing skills, and will improve fluency, confidence, and critical thinking skills.

Awarded by the French Minister of Education, the DELF certifies speakers of French as a foreign language in 4 units: general expression, expression of ideas and emotions, written expression and comprehension and in the practical usage of the French language. The main goal of this course is to make the students realize how international French can be. Students will not only learn the differences found within this language (accents, dialects, vocabulary, etc.) but also similarities between French communities.

If you want to develop your French skills through exploring media, social media and their impact on society then this course is for you. You will analyze both the structure and context of newspapers, magazines, television, radio and the Internet.
Explore Montréal’s diverse neighborhoods, popular cafes and venues at the same time as you enhance your knowledge of everyday English to communicate more easily with native speakers outside the classroom. Take part in tours, listen to presenters and interact with locals to discover and use specific daily target language in real-life situations. This course will empower you to explore Montréal and to see it through the eyes of Montréalers.
In this course, students will develop their French skills as they learn the history of photography, discuss and critique photographs and get involved in creative photographic projects. Students will learn about the various forms of photography (documentary, journalistic, commercial, fashion, portraiture, event, art photography, nature etc.), and will end the session by exhibiting their work in the school, as well as posting it on a free website.
